Plywood Thickness Availability:

Plywood is available in various thicknesses, typically ranging from:

Consider These Factors:

MDF vs. Plywood

MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard): Made from wood fibers compressed into a smooth board. It’s dense, smooth, and ideal for painting but isn’t as strong as plywood.

Plywood: Composed of layers of wood veneers that provide superior strength and flexibility, making it better suited for structural uses.

How to Finish Plywood:

Plywood can be considered relatively eco-friendly, especially when sourced from sustainably managed forests. Look for certifications such as FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) to ensure responsible production.

Plywood can be used outdoors if treated properly. For outdoor applications, opt for marine plywood or plywood with water-resistant treatments. You may also need to seal it to prevent moisture damage.
